fal raises a $1.3B Series F at a $16B valuation, and the figures come from Bloomberg rather than fal
Bessemer led the round in October with Nvidia, Sound Ventures, HOF Capital and T. Rowe Price taking part, doubling the $8 billion price set in April, against roughly $800 million in annualized revenue.
The layer that actually runs most hosted image and video model calls is now priced at $16 billion, and that number is in a Bloomberg story rather than in fal's own announcement. Bloomberg reports that Bessemer Venture Partners, already an investor, led a $1.3 billion financing in October, with Nvidia, Sound Ventures, HOF Capital and T. Rowe Price also participating, and that the round doubles the $8 billion valuation fal carried after a $350 million Sequoia-led round in April.
fal published the news as two rounds at once, a Series E led by Sequoia earlier in the year and a Series F led by Bessemer with Nvidia named as a strategic investor. The company's post is written around capacity and hiring rather than figures, which leaves the $1.3 billion, the $1.65 billion two-round total and the $16 billion valuation entirely in the hands of reporters. That pattern is becoming normal in this corner of the market, as with Higgsfield's Series B extension, where Nvidia's participation was announced with no amount and no valuation attached.
The raise is framed as a capacity problem, not a runway problem
Chief executive and co-founder Burkay Gur told Bloomberg the company hit a wall over the summer, saying fal was "not able to serve our customers and had to rate limit them." That is a more concrete justification than most growth rounds offer, and it is also the part of the story that matters for anyone generating clips through an API: when the serving layer runs out of accelerators, the symptom reaching users is queue time and throttling on specific models, not a press release.
Prices for the same model across hosts are one way to see how much of this market runs through resellers of open weights. In our price radar, Wan 3.0 at 480p for two seconds is listed across eight platforms, with the spread between them considerably wider than the differences in the model itself.
About 20 times revenue, on a figure nobody has filed
Bloomberg cites a source putting fal's annualized revenue at $800 million this year. Against the reported $16 billion valuation that works out to roughly 20 times revenue, on a private number that carries no audit, no filing and no definition of what counts as annualized. The April round, at $8 billion, was priced seven months earlier, so the implied doubling is also measured against a private mark rather than a public one.
Bessemer partner Talia Goldberg is joining fal's board, per Bloomberg. fal's earlier rounds were disclosed more conventionally, including a $140 million Series D announced in December 2025 with Sequoia leading and Nvidia's venture arm participating, which makes the shift to an amount-free company post on a round roughly ten times that size the notable change in how this company talks about money.
Why an inference round matters to anyone scoring generated video
Benchmark work on generated media depends on being able to call the same model, at the same settings, at a stable price, for long enough to collect a sample. A single venue concentrating that much of the hosted image and video traffic makes comparisons easier to run and harder to interpret, because platform-level batching, quantization and scheduling choices sit between the prompt and the output being scored. None of those choices are published per request, and none of them are visible in a leaderboard row.
