Higgsfield Alternatives: What to Check Before You Subscribe

Higgsfield's catalog runs 40+ models at $19/$47/$99 a month. Here's what else carries a wide catalog, and what each one trades off.

Higgsfield charges $19/$47/$99 a month for a 40+ model catalog. OpenArt starts cheaper at $14/mo with a smaller free trial. Runway pairs a narrower model list with full editing tools. Krea and Magnific serve smaller, more focused catalogs. None of these platforms have been through our own generation benchmark yet.

Higgsfield carries a wide model catalog and the best affiliate terms in the category, at $19/$47/$99 a month for Starter/Plus/Ultra. If you have hit the daily free-credit wall and want to compare before paying, here is what else to look at, with real numbers pulled from each platform's own current pricing page, not a summary of what someone else wrote about them. For the full breakdown of Higgsfield's own plans and credit costs, see our Higgsfield pricing guide.

OpenArt: a thinner free tier, a wider catalog

Plans start at $14/mo. The free tier is thinner than Higgsfield's: a one-time 7-day trial with 40 credits, images only, versus Higgsfield's 10-credits-a-day reset (small, but at least ongoing). OpenArt's top "Wonder" plan advertises "Unlimited Creation" on the same page that lists a 106,000-credit monthly cap, worth reading closely before you buy on the word "unlimited" alone.

Where it stops: no working free video tier at all, and the unlimited claim needs the fine print read first. See our OpenArt pricing and review.

Runway: fewer models, more editing tooling

Runway carries a narrower third-party model list alongside its own Gen-4.5, but pairs generation with a full editing timeline rather than treating the clip as the finished product. Its free tier gives 125 one-time credits, watermarked, and every plan's free output stays watermarked regardless of what the license terms say about commercial use.

Where it stops: the model catalog is short next to Higgsfield's or Krea's, and per-clip credit costs are not published the way Higgsfield's are. See our Runway pricing and review.

Krea: fast iteration, and a pricing page that moves

Krea's current individual plans are Pro ($21/mo annual, $35 monthly) and Max ($63/mo annual, $105 monthly); the free tier gives 100 compute units a day for images, no video, no commercial license. Worth flagging: Krea's own blog has published a "Basic" plan at $5 to $9/month in at least one recent post, and that plan does not exist on Krea's own live pricing page as of this check, only Pro and Max. Pricing pages in this category change often enough that even the platform's own marketing can lag behind it, which is exactly why every number on this site carries a checked date instead of being asserted as permanent.

Where it stops: no free video generation at all, and the pricing page itself is a moving target. See our Krea pricing and review.

Magnific: image, video, 3D and audio in one product

Magnific unifies image, video, 3D and audio in one product and is bootstrapped and profitable rather than venture-backed, a different kind of bet on longevity than Higgsfield's $5.4 billion VC-funded valuation. There is no free tier for individual use, and entry pricing runs roughly €16–20/month.

Where it stops: no free tier at all, so there is no way to try it without paying first. See our Magnific pricing and review.

Which should you pick

  • You want the largest model catalog behind one login and do not mind paying from day one: Higgsfield. Nothing else here carries as many third-party models at once.
  • You want to try real video generation for free before paying anything: Runway. It is the only one of these five with a working, if watermarked and one-time, free video tier.
  • You mostly need images and want video as an occasional add-on: Krea or OpenArt, both cheaper entry points than Higgsfield if you are not using the full model breadth.
  • You want an editing timeline built around the clip, not just the clip itself: Runway.
  • You want image, video, 3D and audio in one subscription: Magnific, with the caveat that there is no free tier to test it first.

What actually matters for the decision

Our benchmark scores measure the models, not the platforms that resell them, so between platforms carrying the same model the choice comes down to price and access. If model breadth and heavy VC backing matter more than a tighter catalog, Higgsfield's is larger than any alternative here. If you would rather not pay for models you will not use, the narrower platforms above are worth pricing out first.
